Suzette Welling, CLM is a certified legal manager with over 25 years of C-Suite level law firm management experience, Suzette has intimate knowledge of law firm administrative operations, including strategic planning, finance, human resources, information technology, communications, client relations, professional development, recruiting and facilities. She works closely with her clients to facilitate best practices and execute the firms’ operational objectives, focusing on improving efficiencies and the effectiveness of the firms’ operations and processes. Suzette’s financial strengths and performance earned her the 2009 Tampa Bay Business Journal CFO of the Year Award. In 2018, she earned her Certified Legal Manager (CLM)® designation, a title that requires an in-depth knowledge of the many facets of law firm management. The education and testing required to pass the CLM® exam demonstrates a mastery of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to operate at a high level of expertise in the field of legal management. Suzette provides consulting services to law firms of every size. Recognizing that small law firms have a need for someone with her expertise but cannot justify the full-time salary of such a team member, she developed Law Practice Edge with the goal of helping firms to have a competitive edge regardless of their size. Large firms have found a need for her services as well, however, as they often find they do not have the bandwidth to effectively manage every project they hope to accomplish.
